Due Diligence: Entity Accounts: Introduction

An entity for the purposes of the exchange of information regimes is a legal person or legal arrangement. It covers accounts held by any person other than in the capacity of an individual. Thus it covers accounts held by any entity that falls within the definition of company in Section 1121 CTA 2010 along with legal arrangements including partnerships and trusts.

For reporting purposes an entity will either be a Financial Institution [see IEIM400600] or a Non-Financial Entity (NFE) [see IEIM404040].
