About This Notice
This notice applies to the public legal search service at solved.legal. Solved Technologies Ltd is the controller of the personal information used by this service. You can contact us at [email protected].
Information We Use and Why
We process the search terms you submit to return search results. We also process limited technical request, performance, and error information to deliver, secure, maintain, and diagnose the service. We do this for our legitimate interests in providing and protecting the service.
If you send us feedback, we process your message, the page you were on, and any email address you choose to add, so that we can act on what you tell us and reply to you. We deliver it into our internal mailbox and team collaboration systems. Submitting the form also runs an anti-spam check that processes limited technical and browser information to confirm the message is not automated. We do this for our legitimate interests in improving and protecting the service.
When you use the public service without signing in, we collect page paths, referring page addresses without query strings, browser and device categories, performance measurements, and aggregate interactions. We do not include search terms, create a person profile, or record the session in this mode. We also collect error and performance information to diagnose faults.
When you sign in, we use your email address to identify your account. If you choose email sign-in, we send a one-time code through our email delivery provider. We also associate analytics and browser errors with your opaque account identifier and collect interactions, redacted search terms, and input-masked session recordings. We use both forms of analytics and error tracking for our legitimate interests in understanding, maintaining, securing, and improving the service.
Cookies and Similar Storage
Anonymous analytics does not use cookies, local storage, or session storage.
When you sign in, analytics cookies or browser storage maintain the identified user and session needed for product analytics and session recording. The service's authentication cookie is separately required to keep you signed in.
Service Providers and International Transfers
Our analytics, hosting, delivery, and security providers process personal information for us where necessary to provide their services.
Where a provider processes personal information outside the UK, we protect the transfer using UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual safeguards. Contact us for information about the safeguard used for a particular transfer.
How Long We Keep It
We keep analytics information only while it is needed to assess and improve use of the service. We keep recordings, request information, and error information only while they are needed to investigate performance, security, or faults. We then delete or anonymise the information.
We keep feedback and any reply address only while we need them to assess what you told us, act on it, and reply.
Information You Provide
You are not under a legal or contractual obligation to provide personal information to this service. You must submit a search term if you want us to return results for that search. Technical request information, anonymous analytics, and browser error information are processed when you use the service. Signed-in analytics is processed when you use the signed-in service. General feedback and its reply email are optional. Access requests require an email address so we can respond.
Your Rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to, correction or deletion of your personal information, restrict its use, object to processing, or ask us to provide information you gave us in a portable format. You may also object to analytics processing based on our legitimate interests. Contact us to exercise these rights.
You can make a data protection complaint to us by email. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, investigate it, keep you informed, and tell you the outcome without undue delay. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
