Part 3 of Schedule 19

Relevant groups

Part 3 outlines the relevant groups that the bank levy covers. A relevant group is one of the following:

Paragraph 8 of Schedule 19

A UK banking group, where the group is a banking group as defined in Paragraph 12 (see BKLM242000) and has a UK resident parent entity.

Paragraph 9 of Schedule 19

A building society group, where the parent entity is a building society (see BKLM244000).

Paragraph 10 of Schedule 19

A foreign banking group, where the group is a banking group as defined in paragraph 12 (see BKLM242000) and the parent entity is a non-UK resident entity.

Paragraph 11 of Schedule 19

A relevant non-banking group, where the members of the group include at least one UK resident bank (see BKLM243000) or relevant foreign bank (see BKLM245000) and the group is neither a banking group nor a building society group.

Paragraph 12 of Schedule 19

Banking groups

Paragraph 12 requires various conditions to be met for a group to be a banking group and these are outlined at BKLM242000 onwards.
