HMRC do not hold details of the balance on your loan account. This is confidential information between you and the Student Loans Company.

You can check your student loan balance online.

The Student Loans Company will inform HRMC when the loan is paid in full. HRMC will send a stop notice to your employer to instruct them to stop making deductions. This can take up to 4 weeks for your employer to action.

If you have overpaid your loan you can request a refund.
