A subsidiary company whose shares are wholly owned by a parent company (or companies)that holds gross payment status is exempted from the turnover test.

This exemption is specified in FA04/SCH11/PARA 11(1)(b) and only applies as betweencompanies. It does not apply to a company whose shares are wholly owned by an individual,partnership or trust that has gross payment status.
