From HM Revenue & Customs · COTAX Manual

To deal with cases on the Returns Requiring Capture List in the responsible office consider steps 1 - 5 below.

1.Use function LRLC (Returns Requiring Capture List) to display the work list, select the entry that you want to work and select the [View] button to see details for the case.
2.Use the Global Batching System to find out if a paper return has been batched before capture. If it has, request its return from Peterborough using The Hub system
3.On receipt of the return, or where the return has been filed through the CT online service, use function CRTN (Capture Return) to capture the return and record the self assessment whenever possible.
The case is automatically deleted from the list.
4.If you cannot find the return, B/F the work list entry for 14 days and enter a B/F note.
5.After 14 days, check the Global Batching System again to locate the return. If found go back to step 2 but if you are still unable to locate the return, refer the case to a CT Co-Ordinator.
