DIPPRIV6800 | Motor vehicles: retention of vehicle after loss of diplomatic status

From HM Revenue & Customs · Diplomatic Privileges Manual

If an entitled person loses their diplomatic status, the motor vehicle purchased under diplomatic privilege relief may be retained without payment of charges. The person should forward the vehicle registration documents, insurance certificate, MOT and letter of explanation from the mission to the DVLA for re-registration. The new registration will be restricted to ensure that before any future disposal, charges may have to be paid.
