HSTM03100 | Administration: Opening a Help-to-Save account

From HM Revenue & Customs · Help to Save Technical Manual

A Help-to-Save account is opened with the authorised account provider on the date when the applicant enters into agreed terms with the authorised account provider, which includes the application and declaration required. National Savings and Investments (NS&I) have been chosen as the current sole account provider for Help-to-Save accounts.

Applicants can register for an account through the gov.uk portal. HMRC will carry out the necessary eligibility checks using data held about the applicants. HMRC will refer eligible applicants to NS&I to set up an account.

Access to the accounts will be available online by default. In addition there is a digitally excluded access route. Digitally excluded customers can phone 0300 322 7093 to set up and use their accounts..
