IEIM112050 | Exchange of Information: Outward requests: Trade or commercial secrets

From HM Revenue & Customs · International Exchange of Information Manual

HMRC are not able to request information from a treaty partner if the information is a trade or commercial secret. The concept of a trade or commercial secret should be interpreted narrowly. It is meant to apply to something like a proprietary formula. In any case it is unlikely that such information would be required for tax purposes.
