RM1512 | Setting up and amending: entering an address

The address Field consists of four lines.The first three have 28 character spaces. The fourth line is split into two parts which allows for a postcode Field of 8 character spaces.
The address will appear on any printed items issued in exactly the same form as you enter it. If you cannot avoid splitting place names and so on between two lines, choose a logical place at which to start the new line.
A full postal address consists of the
number (or name) of the house together with the name of the street or road
name of the district or locality. (This includes villages or towns that are not in themselves the post town)post town
name of the county
postcode.
To enter or amend an address
begin each line in this Field in the first left-hand space
always use at least two lines of address
do not split a road or town name between two lines
enter the address consecutively - do not leave any blank lines (except to enter the postcode)
enter the address in the order in which it is to be printed on any correspondence. Always leave a blank space between words
do not use punctuation marks unless they form part of the address. (for example, STOKE-ON-TRENT ).The following example shows you how to enter an address.

If you are setting up a case with an address which, even after acceptable abbreviations,is too long for the space available on your screen
enter the address in a form in which it can be identified and
note the file that all correspondence, including payable orders, must be issued manually.
