If you have not received a response from the person 14 days after the NOR was served

  • contact the person by phone, fax or email*

  • issue an Initial reminder 21 day letter.

If there is still no response 60 days after the NOR was served

  • in multiple business failure cases, see (This content has been withheld because of exemptions in the Freedom of Information Act 2000)

  • forward the case to Criminal Investigation (CI) if it meets the criteria set out in SG43530

  • discuss the case with your manager if it does not meet the criteria set out in SG43530.

  • in non-compliance cases, see (This content has been withheld because of exemptions in the Freedom of Information Act 2000)

  • issue a Final reminder 14 day letter

  • BF for 14 days

  • forward the case to CI if there is no response and it meets the criteria set out in SG43530

  • discuss the case with your manager if it does not meet the criteria set out in SG43530.

* If the NOR was posted, or the person was unavailable at the time of service, you must make every effort to confirm that the person has received the NOR. You cannot refer a case to CI where receipt of the NOR has not been confirmed until you have made at least three phone calls, issued at least two letters and made at least two further visits.
