SW09260 | Organisations: Make Organisation Inactive

Where an HMRC Business Authorising Officer (BAO) becomes aware that a Customer Organisation is no longer active and there is no business need for the organisation to be retained within Shared Workspace then they should make the organisation inactive.

Once an organisation is made inactive

• It can never be made active again

• The exact same name / sub-group combination can never be used again

As a safeguard to a BAO mistakenly making the wrong Customer Organisation inactive the process carried out by the BAO results in a request being sent to the HMRC Shared Workspace Live Service Support Team Activity Inbox for approval SW04460. Only on approval by the GCA is the Customer Organisation made permanently inactive.
