TTOG6565 | Case closure: procedural matters: control of files: when files are requested

From HM Revenue & Customs · Technical Teams Operational Guidance

When a file is requested from another office, the originating office should be told the name and reference of the SI case to which it will be linked, and the name and Group of the Investigator responsible. The other office can then note this in their dummy file. When the files are received in SI they should be logged in by the support staff and passed to the appropriate Investigator.

Guidance for transfers of files between SI and other HMRC offices, is given in the Information Security Handbook and should be followed in all instances, particularly where there is a bulk transfer of information or the information is particularly sensitive.
