From HM Revenue & Customs · Trust Registration Service Manual

Information on the beneficial owners of the trust, and any other individual referred to as a potential beneficiary in a document from the settlor relating to the trust, must be provided to a law enforcement authority if requested from the trustees. This must be provided within any reasonable period as specified by the law enforcement authority.

Regulation 44(8) the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017 provides that where a disclosure is made in good faith in accordance with this requirement to provide information to a law enforcement authority, no civil liability arises in respect of the disclosure on the part of the trustees of a trust.
