Section 17 | Miscellaneous definitions.

“country” includes any territory;

“importer” in relation to any goods at any time between their importation and the time when they are delivered out of charge, includes any owner or other person for the time being possessed of or beneficially interested in the goods;

“preliminary order” means an order under section 8(2) of this Act;

“treaty country” means a country in relation to which Her Majesty’s Government in the United Kingdom is for the time being bound under the provisions of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade concluded at Geneva in the year 1947.
