Bacs Direct Credit transfers money electronically from one bank account to another on a specific date. This service is only available to customers whose businesses are authorised to submit files direct to Bacs. It normally takes three bank working days for a payment to reach HMRC. Bank working days are Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays.

The customer will need to provide their bank with HMRC's bank account details and their reference number. Customers can find out which bank account details they need to use in the Paying HMRC guidance (GOV.UK).
