HMRC is dedicated to safeguarding your health and safety whilst at work, both in the office and out on official business. They have various policies in place to support your well being. Debt Management requires that all Field Force Agents/Distraint officers should have undertaken a recovery proceedings check prior to making the calls.

Training

HMRC will provide Personal Safety training before any DMB member of staff goes out of the office on call. The training will be provided where necessary for other DMB staff when undertaking the recovery of debts.

Specialised training is available for jobholders in specific roles.

A list of HMRC personal safety training products is available on Online learning. A learning package for general Personal Safety training is available from online learning (product code 0016675).

Business Managers are responsible for assessing and controlling the H&S risks to their staff from their work activities and their immediate work area.
