From HM Revenue & Customs · PAYE Manual

The receipt of targeted review forms is logged on the Bulk Logging Target Review Form screen.

Note: This screen can also be used to note when a form has not been delivered, see PAYE79090.

The screen is accessed from the Navigation Menu, without the need to enter an individual’s NINO and is used to record the date received for between one to ten individual accounts. Do not log receipt unless all parts of the form have been fully completed (Action guide tax80217, PAYE79031 and Action guide tax80026).

Notes:

1. You will only be able to log receipt of one of each targeted review form type through the Bulk Logging Target Review Form screen. So, if a customer has multiple forms P87 for different employments in the same tax year, these should be captured through IABD.

Create a manual entry in Contact History to record the action taken, see Action guide tax80011.

2. When logging receipt of a targeted review form with a date earlier than the default date of today’s date, that date must be captured on both the Bulk Logging Target Review Form screen and the IABD Landing screen.

3. The Bulk Logging Target Review Form screen is only used in CY for forms P161(W). All other forms will use the Review Form screen for CY-1 only, anything greater than that will be handled within IABD. The PENAL code indicator will be lifted by the logging / capture of the targeted review forms P810 (the issue of the R40 and 575T does not set the penal indicator from December 2010).

4. When entering NINO’s in the Bulk Logging Target Review Form screen you must ensure that the letters are input in upper case (capitals) or you will receive an error message ‘NINO contains invalid characters’ and the data will not be submitted.

5. See PAYE79061 for further information on bulk logging forms P161 for CY, CY-1 and CY-2 and greater.
