Background

The computer is unable to fully capture claims with more than 18 children. If you receive a claim with more than 18 children, you must

  • log the initial details of the claim

  • transfer the claim to the Manual Payments Team.

Guidance

To deal with a claim with more than 18 children, consider steps 1 to 5.

Step 1

Use Function CAPTURE APPLICATION and in the Log screen

  • log the initial details of the claim

  • select ‘Paper’ from the Application Source field drop down list

  • go to Step 2.

Step 2

Go to the Applicant screen and complete the Telephone Numbers field if the phone numbers have been provided

then

  • go to Step 3.

Step 3

Select ‘Sm’ on the toolbar menu. You will be taken to the Summary Information screen

  • on the Summary Information screen, complete the Application Notes field with the following message
    ‘TCMZ Customer has more than 18 children’

  • select ‘Ap1’ on the toolbar menu. You will be taken to the Applicant screen

  • go to Step 4.

Step 4

On the Applicant screen

  • select [Store]. An entry will be made on the Incomplete Applications work list

  • go to Step 5.

Step 5

Transfer the entry on the Incomplete Applications work list to

  • the International Team Management Unit (MU). Use TCM0322460 for the correct MU number. Follow the guidance in TCM0140120. When transferring the work item, don’t change the action date
    then

  • send the case papers to the International Team(This content has been withheld because of exemptions in the Freedom of Information Act 2000) .
