The economic operator will be notified of the deactivation of the EOID, the reason for and duration of deactivation by issue of a deactivation notice.The deactivation notice may or may not be issued at the same time as any applicable penalty notice.

When an EOID is deactivated, it cannot be reused and if the subject of the deactivation wishes to obtain an EOID following the expiry of the notified deactivation period, they must re-register with the UK ID issuer.
