SW06170 | Create a Room: Request a Room Template

From HM Revenue & Customs · Shared Workspace Business Manual

Whenever a Room is created, the structure is based on a Room template. A Room template determines

  • the design of the new Room.

  • the items available within it

If, when a request is made for a new Room, the list of templates available does not include one that is suitable, the person making the request must select the template that is closest in content to the Room they require.

An HMRC Business Authorising Officer (BAO) must then create extra items, such as folders, databases or links, to adapt the structure of the new Room to meet the requestor’s requirements. The BAO must ensure that the home or front page of the Room is locked. SW06180.

Once this has been done, a BAO can request the creation of the new Room as a template which will be available for others in the Business Unit to select. Only a BAO can request the creation of the new Room template and this is explained in the BAO learning on Kalidus.

The request is either approved or rejected by the SW Live Service Support Team SW04440.
