SW07560 | Other Considerations: Anti-Virus

From HM Revenue & Customs · Shared Workspace Business Manual

Given that Shared Workspace is a service that allows its members to upload files, it ispossible that an uploaded file may be infected with a virus.

HMRC have taken steps to reduce the risk of an infected file being made available and have introduced an industry-leading anti-virus program which is updated regularly. Whilst HMRCmakes every effort to maintain the integrity of the system, it cannot guarantee that all files will be virus-free.

Customer Members of the service need to be aware of the possibility that a file downloaded from Shared Workspace to their computers may contain a virus and should therefore take suitable precautions to protect their own computer/computer system.
