COM141010 | Work lists: features of work lists: B/F date and B/F notes

From HM Revenue & Customs · COTAX Manual

You can add a B/F date to a case in a work list function by using the [B/F] button at the bottom of the screen. The B/F date is simply a reminder to you of the date when you next want to look at a case. It is not an instruction to COTAX telling it when next to present the case to you. You can also use the B/F date as a filter and sort item later on.

If you enter a B/F date you can add a B/F note of up to 40 characters. The first 10 characters are used to sort or filter items. You must use B/F note as published in local guidance at all times.

The B/F note should conform to the B/F "how to guide" to allow effective filtering of cases.

When intstructed to B/F within the same grade, use the following codes:

  • AO B/F code starts XAO

  • CTC B/F code starts YO

  • HO B/F code starts ZHO

When instructed to B/F to a higher grade, use the following codes:

  • AO B/F code AO

  • CTC B/F code O

  • HO B/F code HO
