COM141020 | Work lists: features of work lists: deleting cases from a work list

From HM Revenue & Customs · COTAX Manual

Usually a case remains on a work list until either:

  • you take action to clear the case

  • the circumstances of the case change and the case no longer needs to be reviewed

When either of these events happen COTAX can automatically delete the case from the work list, however, there are some worklists that require manual deletion.

COTAX updates some work lists overnight, so cases you clear on one day may stay on the work list until the following day. However, the COTAX updates some lists instantly so that the cases you clear disappear from the list once you complete your work on them.

Some work lists draw your attention to a condition that needs reviewing, but when working the case you do not necessarily need to use a COTAX function or take any particular action.

This sort of entry cannot be automatically deleted from the list. Work lists like this have a [Delete] button at the foot of the screen. When you have completed your review of the case you must select the [Delete] button to delete the entry from the list.
