The Welsh Customer Service Team (WCS) deal with both telephone and written enquiries from individuals who wish to deal with HMRC through their preferred language of Welsh. They also translate and despatch letters, forms and leaflets into Welsh.

If you receive a letter which is written in the Welsh language, the Welsh indicator is set or you are asked to set the Welsh special output indicator, you should send the correspondence immediately to

The advisors will respond to the letter, seeking additional technical advice from the relevant business area, as appropriate, and update the individuals PAYE record in English so that there is an audit trail of the actions taken as a result of the correspondence.
