Step 1
On the ‘Function Menu’
select ‘Application’ on the toolbar
select either the ‘Change of Circumstances’ or ‘Correction’ from the options available. You will be taken to the ‘Key Entry Data - Applicant’ screen
Note: Where a child or young person returns to full-time non-advanced education or approved training after a period of absence, select the ‘Change of Circumstances’ option. Otherwise, use the ‘Correction’ option.
enter the customer’s NINO
select the ‘Latest’ checkbox
select ‘OK’.
If you are taken to the ‘Select Household’ screen
select the relevant claim
select ‘OK’. You will be taken to the ‘Applicant Details’ screen
go to Step 2.
If you are taken to the ‘Select Application’ screen
select the relevant claim
select ‘OK’. You will be taken to the ‘Applicant Details’ screen
go to Step 2.
If you are taken straight to the ‘Applicant Details’ screen, go to Step 2.
Step 2
If the child or young person is continuing in full-time non-advanced education or approved training, go to Step 3.
If the child or young person is returning to full-time non-advanced education or approved training, go to Step 4.
Step 3
On the ‘Applicant Details’ screen
select ‘Ch’ on the toolbar menu. You will be taken to the ‘Child Details’ screen
select the child or young person that the change relates to
select ‘Correction’. You will be taken to the ‘Correction Child’ screen
enter the start date as 01/09/XX in the ‘Full Time Education start date’ field.
Note: When a child is continuing in full-time non-advanced education and the actual date that they return to education is not 1 September, for example, because the course does not start until 8 September, you must still enter 01/09/XX in the field to ensure that there is no gap in payment.
Note: If the warning message ‘1 month restriction applied to include from date. Check if correct’ displays, select ‘OK’. The message will be deleted.
Note: When you have entered the full-time non-advanced education start date in the ‘Full Time Education Start Date’ field, the computer will automatically set the date in the ‘Include From’ field in the ‘History’ screen. This date may not be correct.
Step 4
On the ‘Applicant Details’ screen
select ‘Ch’ on the toolbar menu. You will be taken to the ‘Child Details’ screen
select the child or young person that the change relates to
select ‘Correction’. You will be taken to the ‘Correction Child’ screen
enter the actual date that the child or young person returned to full-time non-advanced education or approved training in the ‘Full Time Education’ start date field.
For example: A child aged 18 returned to full-time non-advanced education or approved training on 21/10/13. You must enter 21/10/13.
