TCM1000386 | How to use function View Household Account to obtain the outstanding overpayment amount

Step 1
On the ‘Function Menu’
select ‘Household’ on the toolbar
select ‘View Account’ from the options available. You’ll be taken to the ‘Key Entry Date - Applicant’ screen
enter the customer’s NINO
select the ‘All’ checkbox
select ‘OK’.
If you are taken to the ‘Select Award’ screen
select the relevant award
select ‘OK’. You’ll be taken to the ‘View Award Period Summary - Household’ screen
go to Step 2.
If you are taken straight to the ‘View Award Period Summary - Household’ screen, go to Step 4.
Step 2
If the signals box does not show a signal of ‘Cross Award Transfer Made’, go to Step 4.
If the signals box shows a signal of ‘Cross Award Transfer Made’
select ‘Postings’
check for any postings that state ‘Cross award transfer to CTC’ or ‘Cross award transfer to WTC’
make a note of the figures shown
go to Step 3.
Step 3
If the last Cross Award Transfer to either CTC or WTC is a negative figure
note that the overpayment has already been returned by Cross Award Recovery (CAR)
note the correct ‘Overpayment Outstanding’ amount shown in ‘View Award Period Summary - Household’ Screen
go to Step 4.
If the last Cross Award Transfer to either CTC or WTC is a positive figure
note that the overpayment has not been returned by Cross Award Recovery (CAR)
note that you are unable to determine the correct ‘Overpayment Outstanding’
return to the guidance you are following and continue with your action.
Step 4
If there is an amount in the ‘Overpayment Outstanding’ field
this is the outstanding overpayment amount for CTC and WTC
If there is not an amount in the ‘Overpayment Outstanding’ field
an overpayment amount has not yet been returned from CAR.
