Step 1
On the ‘Function Menu’ select ‘IY Finalisation’ on the toolbar
select ‘Maintain IY Finalisation’ from the options available. You will be taken to the ‘Key Entry Data’ screen
enter the customer’s NINO
select the ‘All’ checkbox
select ‘OK’
go to Step 2.
Step 2
If the message ‘No suitable matches can be found with the information supplied’ is displayed
attempt to trace the customer using the Trace Citizen function. For how to do this, use TCM1000465
If you are able to trace the customer, go to Step 3.
If you are unable to trace the customer
Send the documents to storage. Follow the guidance in TCM0074140
Take no further action
If the message ‘No suitable matches can be found with the information supplied’ is not displayed, go to Step 3.
Step 3
If you are taken to the ‘Select Individual’ screen
select the relevant customer
select ‘OK’
go to Step 5.
If you are not taken to the ‘Select Individual’ screen, go to Step 4.
Step 4
If you are taken to the ‘Select Household’ screen
select the relevant household
select ‘OK’
go to Step 5.
Step 5
If the message - ‘A claim marked for IY Finalisation could not be found’ is displayed
select ‘OK’
select ‘Cancel’
take no further action
If the message - ‘A claim marked for IY Finalisation could not be found’ is not displayed
Select ‘Notice Details’ from the ‘Navigation Menu’, go to Step 6.
Step 6
In the ‘Notice Details’ screen
select the ‘Disregard’ checkbox
select the appropriate category in the ‘Actioned By’ field
select the appropriate reason in the ‘Reason’ field
go to Step 7.
Note: where the family has broken down, make sure you select the correct notice to disregard. In these cases, the second customer’s details are shown on the right hand side of the screen
Step 7
If one or both of the following messages are displayed
‘Actioned By’ field must be completed
‘You must select a reason for disregarding the Reply’
go to Step 6.
If no message is displayed, go to Step 8.
Step 8
On selection of the ‘OK’ button, the reply status of the declaration will be changed to ‘Disregard’ and any associated IYS17 worklist entries will be deleted
Take no further action
